Edison Gem Phonograph model C from 1908, with 12 cylinder records

Edison phonograph model GEM C, serial nr 299735 from 1908. Equipped with switching mechanism to play both the early 2-minute wax cylinders and later on the 4-minute wax cylinders/Blue Amberol records. Equipped with viewer model H, suitable to play 4-minute wax cylinders/Blue Amberols of which 12 pieces are included. (In order to play the former 2-minute records a viewer Model C is required; these are offered regularly on specialised sites). The supplied viewer Model H still has the green lacquer at the top to highlight that this is a 4-minute viewer. Device and the horn are entirely original and in excellent condition (museum). Included also is the matching cover. The 12 included records are also in excellent condition; See also the pictures for the titles. The records in the green cases are the so-called Amberol records: these are fragile; the blue ones are the so-called Blue Amberol records that are very durable and resilient. The GEM phonographs do not have a very large engine; Every now and then it needs to be wound.
