A pair of small Zuccherino marble lions, copies of those crafted by Canova for the monument to Pope Clement XIII between 1783 and 1792, the two lions, also known as the "sleeper" and the "vigil", were guarding the Tomb. The two wild beasts are allegorical figures symbolising strength. Size cm. x 31 cm. x 11 cm. 21.5. Ideal for furniture and bookcases, tracked and insured shipping.
