Very nice top player by Technics. This brand is known for its high-quality Direct Drive turntables. The device is 40 years old and plays as new. This is a brother for home use of the widely acclaimed SL1200, without DJ features. The 1400 is a semi-automatic, so it gives you the ease of automatic turnoff at the end of the record. The arm neatly returns to the resting position without shocks. The player has been thoroughly cleaned, oiled and the speed on 33 and 45 rpm has been adjusted. The speed of the players from this series of Technics is extremely accurate and easy to set with the beautiful knobs on the front left of the strobe. The device is in very good optical condition. A few very small pieces of lacquer have let go, but that is not surprising considering the age and it is not striking in the daily use. A separate mention goes to the dust cover which is entirely pristine, no tears or deep scratches. It does have some superficial scratches, but it is in very neat condition. The sound is full and warm and is accounted for by the nice Shure M95ED cartridge with good used needle. Registered and insured shipment.
