Beautiful designer turntable by Sony from 1977 with audiophile properties. The PS-X4 comes from the High End series that SONY introduced exactly 40 years ago, during the height of the vinyl years. This turntable can be compared to other top class players in Hifi qualities. The design is exclusive thanks to the use of materials, colour scheme, partly visible bottom and the platter with round air pads. The building is robust thanks to the full aluminium chassis resting on heavy feet. All the components are high quality. This turntable has hardly visible signs of use. The chassis is fully made of an aluminium alloy, even the bottom is made of aluminium, see photos. The weight is no less than 10.3 kg! Thanks to the full aluminium chassis and solid feet this turntable is insensitive to outside vibrations. The chassis is in excellent condition. The operation is semi-automatic: the arm automatically goes back at the end of the record. Direct Drive with a brushless motor and servo controlled. Turntable equipped with an illuminated stroboscope and excellent run speed. The tonearm is a statically balanced universal S-arm with universal headshell. The turntable comes with a Nagaoka JT 511 DJ cartridge with excellent stylus. Space has been made in the chassis for a spare headshell. The four heavy feet are adjustable for precise horizontal placement. This turntable is cleaned and polished. Without dust cover and with hinges. The original SONY 7'' single adapter is included. Equipped with solid original SONY interlink and a thick power cable to further increase sound quality. In case of shipping the turntable will be well packed in a double box with extra packaging for fragile elements.
