Impressive painting, signed by G. Quidousse. Gaston Quidousse was born in Gullegem (Belgium) on November 12, 1938, and died in Houthalen (Belgium) on May 8, 1998. Quidousse began painting at the age of 12. For a living, he worked in Borrinage for two years, namely in the Sainte Cathérine coal mines in Dour. He later worked as a woodcutter in the French Ardennes. A visit to the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam brought him into contact with Frits Meijer and they became good friends.
