Bang & Olufsen Beogram 1000 in the latest edition - serviced

The Beogram 1000 was a success, and was produced for as many as 7 years, of 1965-1972. - Designed by Jacob Jensen. The tonearm was revolutionary for its time, whilst other brands balanced the arm with wires and weights to assert pressure compensation - B&O did this by means of a slightly skewed tonearm bearing. Simple, foolproof and perfect. At the time, wheel drive was popular, but B&O already had drive belt drive, and thus less rumble. The chassis suspension was also perfect, so that no vibrations reached the tonearm. This 1000 is of the type 5229, and thus comes from circa 1973. In this model the branding on the plinth disappeared, and was replaced by a sticker on the metal chassis. Also the outer appearance has changed somewhat, please see the speed selection dial. After this model 1000 came the Beogram 1001. This 5229 implementation is quite rare, I have serviced approximately 25 Beogram 1000’s and I had not previously seen this model. In very nice condition, even the connection cables are as new. The engine has been checked and is fine on revolutions, and the fine-tuning is once again in order. The drive belt has been replaced by a new one with the correct specifications. The needle is in new condition, type SP 14 - this was the successor to the famous SP 6/7. The dust cover has been polished and put the pedestal has been oiled. Including manual and DIN/cinch cable. Just simply a gem to see and to listen to. Shipping is done with professional packaging with custom cut foam rubber, insured and with tracking code.
