Linhof Super Technika IV field camera 4x5 inch (1963 - 1976) Serial N°: 62847

Unmatched precision and quality is what a Linhof Technika IV 4 x 5 inch field camera stands for. The much improved Tech IV was made from 1963 to 1976. Serial numbers started from # 62501. Starting from 70500, the top of the RF housing is in line with the top of the body. IVs usually have brown leather. Features include: - Bigger, stronger body - Front swings available for the first time. - Optical Center lens tilts instead of only backward tilt. - Movable infinite stops on the focus path make it easy to use different lenses - New type of lens card (not interchangeable with IIIs) that became the standard on all subsequent Techs. - Improved Graflok or international back design makes the use of 120 film backs or Polaroid backs simple. - RF connection 75 to 360 lenses. 65 lenses with an expensive wide-angle focus device. - RF-cams STILL are not standardised. Cams for an IV are ONLY accurate for that camera and with that lens. Although you can swap them physically, it will likely reduce the accuracy of the focus. - IVs were made with and without the RF. With RF it is a Super Technika, without RF it is a Technika. Later have IVs a removable accessory shoe. You unscrew a button below the shoe and find a tripod connection. Believe it or not, this is to mount the camera upside down for extra wide angle movements. The Body Rigidity of the IV and later cameras is astonishing. Put it next to another brand and you'll see what I mean. The Tech IV has the easiest and probably the strongest front standard of the IV/V/Master series. I have been told that this is popular in the Japanese market.
