Gio' Ponti (1891-1979) - Porcelain vase - Manifattura di Doccia - Richard-Ginori
Gorgeous item by Giò Ponti for Ginori.
Ponti’s style for Richard-Ginori is an original interpretation of the Art Deco.
The Richard-Ginori, originally Manifattura di Doccia, was founded in 1735 by the Marchese Carlo Ginori, near Florence, in the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino. In 1896, there was a merge with an industrial group of Milan, Augusto Richard, to whom we owe the name Richard-Ginori.
The partnership between Richard-Ginori and Giò Ponti lasted less than a decade (1923-1930), but despite this, it was radical and changed deeply the company's production. In 1925, at the international exhibition of Decorative Arts of Paris, Ponti was awarded with the Grand Prix, the most prestigious recognition from the jury.
