Porceleyne Fles - Royal Delft - Large pumpkin shaped vase in Pijnacker decor - Red, blue and gold - 38 cm

A true collectors item offered from my private collection. A magnificent pumpkin shaped vase in the extremely nice and valuable Pijnacker decor. The ‘Pijnacker’ has its origin in the 17th century and is inspired by the Japanese Imari porcelain. De Porceleyne Fles started with this style at the end of the 19th century. The ‘Pijnacker’ was made in that period with the tin glaze technique. The production was stopped in 1905. The production restarted in 1916 and the decoration has been applied to the contemporary blue-white earthenware. This type of Pijnacker earthenware was in production until 2009. This pumpkin was made in 1984 and is very richly decorated with floral motifs. The used colours are red, blue and gold (this concerns powdered gold and glossy gold) which was diluted with oil before being applied. Hand made and hand painted by Royal Delft, better known as De Porceleyne Fles in The Netherlands. Style: Pijnacker. The dimensions are approx. 38 x 16 cm. The pumpkin was is in very nice condition. Hardly any crackle, without damage. Date: ‘DD’, meaning 1984. It weighs 1,513 grams. Painter: LdB, ( Schopman - De Bloois, L.A.), earthenware painter at De Porceleyne Fles from 1958 until 1986. Original Delft earthenware. A wonderful collectors item and a valuable possession. Your purchase will be very carefully packaged. As soon as your payment has been received by Catawiki, we will send your item within two business days. Pick-up in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, is also possible.
