Terracotta Art deco sculpture of a woman with child on marble pedestal by John Dommisse, Belgian sculptor 1878-1955. Johannes Dommisse worked on the Berlage bridge in Amsterdam and also designed a fronton for the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Work of Dommisse can be found in various museums, including the Gemeentemuseum Arnhem, Centraal Museum Utrecht. He is mentioned in "Beeldhouwkunst in België vanaf 1830" among others. Signed by ‘J. Dommisse’ and numbered ‘2297’. Made in Belgium. The sculpture is in good condition with minimal signs of use (only chip on the pedestal - see photos).
