The well-known Freiberger sextant from 1969. Original serial number 68690. This is the new model with the release at the front of the drum and the egg-shaped horizon filters. Greenish-grey version with hammered coating. Mechanically in perfect condition and otherwise as good as new. The mirrors show some tiny spots but the use is not affected. This sextant never seems to have been used and is handled with care. Even the box is still perfect for an age of nearly 50 years. Only the calibration certificate is no longer new and torn. Complete with set key for the mirrors but without key of the case. This sextant is still fine to use as back-up facilities for the navigation on long sea voyages if the GPS fails.
