Glass aquarium from Venice, Italy; 1950s (also see the lighting and the nickel housing). The aquarium is not signed. The beautiful design of the fish, their colours, the seaweed, resemble strongly of Barbini by Cenedese. It has two damaged labels (the object was cleaned with water). One mentions most probably the store. E (?) Vianello, R (?). Marco, 364 ... (?), Venezia Italia. The other one is still readable: Venetian Glass. The aquarium stands on a matching base with working lighting (see the final two pictures). The dimensions are 30 (w), 19 (h) and 6 cm deep (built up in three layers). Weight: 10.4 kg. Lot will be shipped by registered mail and can be picked up in Haarlem if necessary.
