A beautifully vase with stylized flowers - Anemones - made and signed by Pierre d'Avesn (Pierre Girre was his real name). Pierre d'Avesn (born 1901) was considered as the elite of the last glassmakers of the Art Deco era, he died in Paris at the age of 90. Pierre d'Avesn was a pupil of François Decorchement, School of Decorative Arts. He was engaged at Lalique, where he remained 10 years. He worked at Daum - 1930 till 1937 - he developed the molded pressed glass production in the department of productions signed Lorrain Nancy. He joined Verlys in 1937 in the Hollophane glasses department at Andelys glassworks. After 1945, he was found at the Cristallerie de Choisy le Roi where he reissued old models and created new ones.
