Montegrappa - Pluma - Reminiscencia Lim.Ed. Plata de ley RE94 Vermeil

PRODUCT INFO: An exact reproduction of the 1915 model, the Reminiscence is an unmistakable line of writing intruments, a flagship of the Montegrappa's hand crafted tradition and manufactured using the celebrated deep drawing technique. The Reminiscence writing instruments are acknowledged worldwide for painstaking attention to detail. Some of the reasons people around the world are attracted to these writing masterpieces are the exclusive octagonal shape, the gracious form of the clip in silver with the characteristic revolving sphere and the etching with the fine Montegrappa Greek fretwork 925 sterling silver body with vermeil gold plating. Features a 18k 750 gold nib rhodium partially masked and with Greek key gold plating etchings. DETAILS: Reminiscence Limited Edition from Montegrappa 1912, circa 1984 production. This is the RE94 model fountain pen octogonal body cap & barrel. In all solid sterling silver 925 Vermeil (gold plated) cap, barrel, grip section and clip ("* 1055VI" hallmarked several times on barrel, cap and section and portuguese hallmarks on cap lip - small eagle head/925 and manufacturer - see detailed pictures), with a nice and sophisticated Greek key adorned engraving all over. The 1055VI hallmark indicates the pen was made in Venice during the Aquila ownership. Two-tone 18K solid gold nib rhodium plated "F" fine and finely engraved with a golden greek key pattern in gold plating mask. Cap screws-on both sides closed and posted. Clip with classic free rotating sphere/ring on point. Supplied with original Montegrappa piston converter with transparent barrel for ink level view, as shown. Can also be used with compatible intenational cartridges (one unit black ink supplied, although not shown in pictures, sorry) Made in Italy. 12,6cm total length (Cap on/closed); 11,8mm max. diametre cap (without clip); 10mm minimum diametre barrel.. Supplied with, all original Montegrappa, as shown: - Leaflet of this line of pens, - hard case with spring loaded hinge, - converter, - one cartridge black ink (international standard, generic aftermarket). All original and authentic. Please consider the pictures as part of the description as they show the exact item that will be purchased. CONDITION: Mint overall - extremely gently used, if ever, no flaws and no visible use marks ! All seems practically as new with few micoscopic marks only, almost unnoticeable. However, the grip section shows some very light wear to the gold plating on some spots, especially around the brand engraving, probably due to time and storage effects; and there are a few very mild and normal surface oxidations that I didn't want to clean any deeper due to the delicacy of the vermeil plating (this a more than thirty year old pen - see detailed pictures please). No obvious scratches, dents, dings, nicks or scuffs. No cracks or deformations. No obvious oxidations. No repairs. Clip perfectly aligned and adjusted to cap. No wear brassing to gold platings. The nib is perfect, as new too - no scratches or marks, aligned and with complete iridium, writing perfectly and smoothly. Cap screws smoothly and completely both posted and closed. Converter is as new, working smoothly. Very crisp engravings. No personal engravings. In perfect working order. The case shows considerable wear to the green leatherette outside, especially on corners and edges, from time and storage. Otherwise ok and closing firmly. PACKING & SHIPPING: Package Includes: Item as described and carefully packed together with Catawiki Invoice. I will post this Item by Registered Mail (with Tracking Number) and Insured (if possible and advisable to auction winner's country).
