Beautiful late 17th century hock glass.
The chalice with minor air bubbles, so-called seed and a kind of 'touch', slightly bulged (rare)
with a cog-wheel engraving of grape vines along the rim.
Running 'open' into the stem (a so-called ‘runner').
A ribbed glass thread under the chalice.
The stem is decorated with the characteristic 'bramble' nodes.
Please note: the story goes that these bramble nodes provided grip while eating, back then they still only used a knife and the hands were rather greasy.
These nodes were applied with a pipe clay stamp by pressing on a glass drop.
The base van twisted glass wires (applied to a wooden bobbin)
and with the characteristic cut off pontil, (last contact with the glass pipe), pushed in/upwards and slightly stained.
> the glass is as light as a feather (soda composition); feeling that is already a sensation in itself.
The glass is 100% intact.
Height 13.4 cm.
Professional shipping ensured, the rummer will be packed in bubble plastic in a sturdy cardboard box; registered and insured (with track and trace).
