Hippolyte François Moreau (1832-1927) - Una gran estatua - "La Vigne" - Zamak - alrededor de 1900
Very fine, bronze patinated zamak sculpture of a young woman, in her arms carrying the vineyard’s harvest. The artist put a lot of care in the detailing of her face and clothing. Pay attention to the refined execution of the fence to which she leans and the way the artist has depicted her hairstyle. On the front of the pedestal there is a plaque with the title of the sculpture “La Vigne”. The sculpture has been signed on the base by the maker “H. Maker”. This is a sculpture of high quality. The sculpture stands on a marble pedestal.
Hippolyte Moreau is a son of the famous sculpture Jean-Baptiste Moreau and has learned the trade from his father.
Together with his brothers Mathurin and Auguste, he has made many beautiful sculptures.
