The two bakelite halves enclose a classic metal grinder with a metal handle and a knob. The grinder has a futuristic design and the bakelite has the red-brown colour and gloss of roasted coffee beans. In exceptionally good condition. The grinding mechanism and the sprung valves also work perfectly. Marked with the seals "PeDe" en "Dienes Reform D.R.G.M.-D.R.P." Height without crank: 17.3 cm Length: 14.5 cm. Weight: 631 grams Pe.De. is the abbreviation of Peter Dienes. This German opened a factory in Remscheid in 1869 which focused on hand coffee grinders and later on electric grinders. The German PeDe went bankrupt in 1962. The logo consisted of a deer with St Hubertus Cross, as depicted on the sides of this grinder.
