Beautiful and rare pewter Art Nouveau sugar bowl designed by André Villien at the beginning of 1900 for Etain Français Paris. The bowl is part of the Deposé Collection de la Marquise de Sévigné. This marquise was a writer, became famous because of her Lettres (Letters to her daughter about the aristocracy of France) and lived from 1626-1696. The bowl is in good and used condition. Has a small tear at the mouth; otherwise intact and with the usual signs of use for an object of that age. See the photos. Extensively marked on the underside and also signed by the designer on the belly of the sugar bowl. From ear to ear 21 cm wide and 15 cm high incl lid. André Villien can be seen and read in DAHHAN "Etains 1900, 200 sculpteurs de la Belle-Epoque, éditions de l’amateur, 2000, n °1238.” The sugar bowl will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail.
