Offered, is this rare Houghton Butcher 'Synchro Ensign' Folding Camera. It was manufactured from 1915 when the Houghtons and Butcher merged, so is quite rare. Different from the later Ensigns, in that it has a 'square-edged' body and chrome struts with a circular aperture at the bottom. The wooden body is finished in black leatherette, with later models having a metal-painted finish. The one on offer comes in very good/used condition, with clear Rectimat lens and working Synchro shutter. It used 120 size film, giving 6cm x 9cm exposures. Also included is the original leather camera case, with stamped ENSIGN logo. At around a century old - a great collectible.
