Ettore Sottsass - Olivetti - Maquina de escribir (1) - Praxis 48

Olivetti Praxis 48 typewriter. Very beautiful with an exceptional design by Ettore Sottsass, very well kept, I presume it works because when powering it through its 220 volt cable it lights up and the hammers work allowing you to type (see photos). I think, however, that before being used it should be inspected and certainly cleaned and lubricated. Sold as seen, for collectors. Size: 33 x 15 x 33 cm Weight: 10.7 kg Very rare item. Olivetti Praxis 48 is a semi standard electric typewriter by Olivetti, created in 1964 from the design of Ettore Sottsass, future father of the famous Olivetti Valentine, and Hans von Klier. One of the peculiarities of this machine is the refinement of the striped surface, which was not created for purely decorative reasons but to better conceal the imperfections of the plastic casting. Writing still happens with the classic character-holder hammers. The Italian version of the machine uses the QZERTY layout, although versions with different key arrangements have been produced according to the language to which they were destined.
