Old steel and cast-iron safe manufactured in France circa 1860. Manufactured as a safe to store important documents or jewellery, during travelling, it was easily portable by the lady or gentleman thanks to its handle on top. This security safe is fire retardant with padded interiors that helped protect its valuable contents. Marked in front: Bauche Brevete S.G.D.G. Dieu et mon Droit Dimensions: length: 33 cm, width: 21.5 cm, height: 18 cm It has a key and a lock which are in working condition. The safe shows some traces (see photos) but is in very good condition considering its age and the purpose for which it was designed. Shipped in neat packaging.
