Very nice set of 4 dining chairs model Costes designed by Philippe Starck and manufactured by Driade Aleph, Italy 1984. This famous iconic chair was designed for the Café Costes in Paris. Starck used a black lacquered tubular tripod shape to avoid making it too bulky, which would have hindered the movements of the waiters. The shell is made of bent plywood in veneered mahogany. Seat padded with polyurethane foam and covered with high quality black leather. The chairs are in very good original condition. Only some small damages along the edges.
