Adrianus Johannes (Arie) Zwart. Rijswijk 1903-1981 The Hague. He painted in the style of the Hague School landscapes and still lifes. In the beginning, his paintings were dark in colour, but after that his landscapes become impressionistic, light and colourful. These paintings are highly sought after. Arie Zwart initially lived in a houseboat that was elsewhere, especially on the Nieuwkoop, Rijswijk and Loosdrecht lakes. During the war years, he lived in Meppel and later in Alkmaar, Voorburg, Woerden and Laren. He also made trips to Spain and France. Beautiful summery view on the Nieuwkoop lakes with a farmer in a rowing boat and cows. Very nice sunny colours and the original frame. Minimal craquelure and in very nice condition.
