Navy officer's sabre model 1837/53, guard in chiselled and pierced gilded brass, adorned with crowned anchor, brown horn rocket; double-throated blade signed on the back: “Klingenthal Coulaux Cie”; Leather sheath with three brass trims. (Missing the filigree). Second-Empire period. In good condition.
The leather sheath is quite fragile it still holds straight to tuck the blade but it presents signs of wear
