In well-working condition, a very unique and even rare and large Danish Design wall clock "station clock", a design by the world famous designer and architect Vilhelm Lauritzen, which was designed in the 1970s for the station of Copenhagen, produced by Georg Christensen. The movement is a Junghans Quartz Germany type W738 (Euroshaft movement), with an IEC LR6 battery, which comes with this wall clock. Dimensions: Diameter: 44.5 cm Depth: 5.5 cm Background information: Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) was a prominent and modern Danish architect, and founder of the still active architect firm Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter. Vilhelm Lauritzen was born in Slagelse, Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and graduated in 1921. The year after, he founded his own company, Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter in 1928 and he was active in the company till 1969. He received the Gold Medal from the Academy in 1926 and up to and including the 1920s he created a number of monumental designs in classicist style that have never been realised. Lauritzen designed interiors for his designed buildings as well, like lamps, furniture and clocks. His lamps, especially his table lamps from the 1930s, which were manufactured by Louis Poulsen. Source: Wikipedia. Condition in agreement with the age and amount of use, like multiple stains and scratches and spots of wear, especially on the outer edge.
