Walnut shaft with brass mounts, the front extension of the trigger guard ends in a lily, butt cap with three crowned Bourbon lilies surrounded by a crowned, oval laurel wreath in high relief; blued barrel with italic, cursive inscription ‘GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI’ inlaid in gold along the axis of the barrel, on the end of the barrel is an engraved and gold-plated ornamental band perpendicular across the axis of the barrel. Flintlock in accordance with the design 13; all of the screw heads are flat, along with the visible screw ends, they are engraved with a decorative pattern. Iron ramrod, threaded at the end, for screwing on a bullet puller and nail-shaped head. Cursive manufacturer’s signature ‘Maubeuge Manuf. Royale’ in italics on the lock plate, ‘B’ under the crown on the lock plate (Daniel Bouissavy, 1st inspector in Maubeuge, 1808-1816), ‘AC’ as a gold-inlaid mark in the horizontal oval on the barrel on the breech (Charles Francois Alphand, captain of the artillery, inspector in the Maubeuge manufactory 1814-1818 ).
