Philippe Starck - Escultura, Alessi - ''Juicy Salif Studio n.3'' - Limited Edition (525/999) - 29 cm - Múltiple en fundición de bronce - 2021

Designed by Philippe Starck in 1988 and released in 2021 on the occasion of 100 years of Alessi (1921-2021) in a limited edition. The "Juicy Salif" has become an icon and one of the most popular items in the Alessi catalogue. A truly iconic object and symbol not only of Philippe Starck but also of Alessi himself, this juicer - as revolutionary as it is, was sketched in its essence by Starck during a holiday by the sea in Italy, on a pizzeria napkin. A plate of squid asking for a squeeze of lemon juice inspired Philippe Starck for what would become one of the most controversial talking points of the 1990s and 10s, spawning countless heated arguments about its nature and significance. This limited edition (number 525/999) ''Juicy Salif'' is the first design (1988) of the famous ''Juicy Salif'' with rotating slots. Later in 1990 the design was changed to the regular ''Juicy Salif'' with straight down slots, which is still made today. This is to allow the juice to flow easily into the glass. A spider, a sea monster, an alien or a space rocket, Philippe Starck's iconic juicer is presented here to the public in its original version. Multiple cast in bronze. Limited edition of 999 numbered copies worldwide and 3 artist's proofs. This sculptural ''Juicy Salif'' is part of the Alessi 100 Values Collection, a special initiative that celebrates, on the occasion of Alessi's centenary, the values that define the identity and practice of the "Dream Factory". A collection of astonishing objects, drawn from the archives of the Alessi Museum: objects never produced until now, unpublished versions, icons caught in their becoming. Real collectibles! This limited edition ''Juicy Salif'' comes in new condition with original packaging, certificate and documents. Diameter (cm): 14.00 Height (cm): 29.00 Philippe Starck: The French designer Philippe Starck (1949) studied at the École Nissim de Camondo in Paris and continued to live in Paris after his studies. This is how Starck became an inspiration and influencer for designers who form the basis of today's design brands.
