Impressive and large oil on canvas painting, depicting St. Jerome in prayer, mounted on a large contemporary gilt frame with pure gold. The visual effect of both the canvas and its precious frame is magnificent, but unfortunately not well-rendered in the photos. The painting is in very good condition, the canvas is still in original condition, with a nice patina of time, it is not relined, no paint-losses, only signs of ageing, of course, which prove its authenticity. Considering its dating, the painting is in a very good state. The canvas retains its beautiful contemporary 10 cm wide frame in pure gold, that enhances and illuminates the painting. The frame is still in perfect condition, with a slight scratch at the top right corner, almost invisible even though highlighted in photos.
