In 1689 (Genroku 2), the first generation Eizaemon Fukagawa began manufacturing ceramics in Hizen Arita, which became the predecessor of Koransha.
From the end of the Edo period to the turbulent period of the Meiji period, the 8th generation Eizaemon Fukagawa brought together the best potters, painters, and pottery merchants of the time, and established the Koransha organization in 1875 (Meiji 8).
We also worked hard to export Arita ware overseas, exhibiting it at numerous world expositions held around the world. Since then, it has received numerous honors, including an award at the Philadelphia World's Fair and a gold medal at the Paris World's Fair, and has continued to increase its reputation overseas.
