Heavy Austrian Sabre. ( Pallasch M 1769 / 75 )

Very heavy sabre. Total length of 106 cm. Blade of 86 cm, 3.8 cm wide. The impressive blade is engraved with the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and on the side “Eissenbach". The blade is single-edged but ends in a (sharp!) double-edged point. In the end, the thinner part is somewhat bent. The handle consists of wood with wire, covered with leather. There is some movement between the hilt and the handle. This model looks a lot like the Austrian M1769 /75 Pallasch der österreichischen schweren Kavallerie. But not 100% For comparison the sabre is photographed together with a German Blucher Sabre (Model 1811). (Not for sale) The Scabbard has a W (or an M) and some diagonal lines. Reminding of the scabbard of a Blucher sabre, but then straight. 2 hanging rings. Top side of the scabbard appears to differ from the rest of the scabbard. The images tell more than the description and are therefore an important part of the description. See Hieb und Stichwaffen by Eduard Wagner page 375
