A beautiful mask by the Lega ethnic group, also called Warega, is situated in the region east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. A beautiful mask with the typical strongly stylized, heart-shaped face. It is painted with with kaolin, the photo doesn't show the little crystals in the paint. This type of mask was used in ceremonies of the Bwami, the highly hierarchical social structure that governs the life of the Lega.
