The set showcases a small copper bell with the distinguished mark of Yasuda Shokeido, a renowned establishment dating back to 1792 in Ginza, known for its exquisite craftsmanship in Buddhist altars and fittings. The largest bell in the collection is also crafted from copper, while the remaining bells are made from a brass alloy, each resonating with a history of spiritual use. Included are nine decorative cushions and nine stands for the bells, where one stand is uniquely shaped as a hexagon tatami mat, one made of durable plastic, and the rest are made of lacquered wood. Eight striking rods, three of which are wrapped in leather, complete this lot. Used in temples to mark the beginning and end of daily rituals, to harmonize the rhythm of chanting, and believed to purify and cleanse the environment of negative energies, these bells serve as both spiritual instruments and works of art. The collection bears signs of aging, such as scratches, discoloration, stains, verdigris patina, and two burn marks on one cushion, as well as some loss of lacquer and a tear in the fabric of one of the striking rods. Please examine the photos for a full appreciation of their condition. Dimensions of Bells: approx. H 2.7-10.8 cm W 7-15.4 cm D 7-15.4 cm Dimensions of Stands: approx. H 2.7-15.3 cm W 7.7-16.3 cm D 7.7-16.3 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos.
