Ros Khavro - Escultura, Pretending to be a human - Unique, Signed Bust - 55 cm - Madera, Roble - 2024

Pretending to be a human Ros Khavro, 2024 Unique oak wood* sculpture. Signed by artist on the bottom. (Dimensions: Height: 55cm, Width: 23cm, Depth: 20cm Weight: 9kg) The form is a contemporary reference to primitive ritual masks and primal portraits. Expressive. Timeless. Magical. Carved by the artist with chainsaw from a solid piece of oak wood*, finished with a chisel. Tanned with fire (yakisugi**), painted with gold stain and waxed. All this resulted in a unique piece of art rich in exceptional details. The artwork will look great on a platform, pedestal or other base. * (Oak is a long-lived material that does not rot when exposed to rain. It's excellent to represent both inside and outside (in the garden or at the home entrance p. e.) ** (Yakisugi (焼杉) is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. By slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable. It also protects against insects, as well as making the wood fire retardant.) Packed very safely. Shipped registered and insured. EU delivery within 2-7 days (depends of a country). About Artist: Ros Khavro is an artist who works with analog photography and Wet plate collodion method. Based on his photographic works, he creates sculptures in wood and metal. (Is also known for its handcrafted limited edition art books.) His works can be found in many recognized collections around the world. khavro.com
