According to Parker Chacra is the best Pinot Noir that has ever come from Argentina.
This is the flagship of the chateau with hand numbered bottles from asmall perfect yield.
Bottle number 1243, 1244 and 1245.
Beautiful new world wine, showcasing what Argentina can do- still in the early stages of the drinking window.
96 points from Fallstaff who writes:
On the nose sour cherry, leather, white pepper, Assam pepper, red currant, and juniper. Complex and constantly changing, also exuding great freshness. On the palate with noticeably grainy, slightly clinging (but immaculately ripe) tannins just beginning to soften. Salty notes, creamy base and a finish fruit that also seems rather youthful. An almost impetuous pinot noir - dense, extracted to the maximum and correspondingly powerful, but still with nuances, a mineral base and fine tension. Enormous finish. Let it lie.
