Important pieces in the collection works of the Brannam Pottry by Charles Hubert Brannam from 1880, this pair of lizard vases were produced in very limited quantities. This is what they call a beautiful right-left couple. Pair of lizard vases from the 19th century, made by Charles Hubert Brannam (1855-1937) in his pottery that was founded by his father Thomas Backway Brannam in 1848 in Barnstaple, his son would join the company in 1867. In 1881, CH Hubert would take over the company completely. This is one of the very rare pieces that was marked at the bottom with ART Pottery, In 1879 he persuaded his father to allow him to produce art ware. Since then, some pieces have also been marked with Art Pottery. One of the vases has an old restoration on the neck of the vase, probably carried out in the first part of the 20th century. The vases are signed by CH Brannam, dated 1880, the pottery was also mentioned as Brannam Pottery and the North Devon district as N.
