The Kid / Yanitor Yens / Uncle Mose - 11 Offset Print - Foster Follett & Roy Taylor - half page Sundays - 1909

Very rare surviving pages cut out from The New York Herald Sunday Comics section containing episodes of The Kid by Foster Follett and Yanitor Yens and Uncle Mose, both by Roy Taylor. This bundle contains 11 half pages, size 43x27cm, published between 1909 and 1911. The pages are conserved in special plastic maps and cannot be taken out. Very good condition, wrinkles, tears, flaking and missing pieces may occur, look at the photos for details. Each page has comics printed recto/verso. On the verso side, there are various comics like Jack in Venice, Ophelia and others. Follett's work was published regularly in early 1900s N.Y. papers. It ran in The New York Herald, The World, Life, Judge and The Saturday Evening Post. He made political cartoons and the comic strips 'Tidy Teddy', 'Skeezicks', 'The Kid' and 'Private Conscience' and was an active part of the newspaper world at that time. Roy Taylor cartooned for the Chicago Daily News, the New York World, and the Philadelphia North American. His earliest known comic strip was Brainy Bowers, which began appearing in the Chicago Daily News in about 1901. By the time Taylor gave up Brainy Bowers, he had already started Yens Yensen Yanitor. Three other short-run strips for the New York World followed: Mrs. Firstlove (1908), Mr. Meanto (1910-1911), and Uncle Mose (1911-1912). Yens Yensen outlasted them all and came to an end in Sept. 1912. Will be shipped with Bpost track&trace I will combine shipping when technically possible. For combined shipment, please contact me after the auction and hold payment until I have adjusted shipping costs. #specialcollectionservice.
