Striking Japanese contemporary vintage (1990s) dark green ‘Korin’ glass art vase by Kuniaki Kuroki (b 1945), one of Japan’s leading glass artists and pioneers. This ‘Korin’ style glass with ‘ears’ in rare lustrous dark green has gorgeous detailed decoration and inlaid gold highlights. It measures ca 17.5cm tall x 19cm wide x 10cm deep. Signed by the artist on the base (Kinsai Korin).

Kuroki Kuniaki is a leading Japanese glass artist and has produced numerous works over the past 60 or so years. Now almost 80, Kuroki presides over Glass Art Kuroki, a glass craft workshop in the town of Aya (Miyazaki Prefecture). He’s the recipient of numerous Japanese and international awards and has exhibited his work throughout the world. Kuniaki’s work continues to fascinate people at home and abroad, expressing natural beauty and traditional Japanese aesthetics found in paintings and other classical works of art.
