General Army Shin Gunto Samurai sword Bizen Osafune Yasumitsu NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon This is a wonderful WW II Shin Gunto generals sword with tassel It is known that high ranking officers carried swords from well-known smiths. Great blade from Muromachi era year 1394. In fine Shin Gunto Army koshirae with perfect and high quality mounting. Yasumitsu was a son of the Osafune Shigeyoshi and worked with Morimitsu. These sword makers were kept as the top ranking swordmakers at early Muromachi period. Generally Yasumitsu and Morimitsu made Tachi a few but Tanto and small wakizashi mainly. The blade is well known high ranking sword makers and also cut well sword (Oo wazamono cutting test ranking) Morimitsu and Yasumitsu are well known sword smith in early Muromachi period at Bizen school. Especialy Yasumitsu is well known the most famous sword smith as fantastic Jigane . This sword is typical Yasumitsu and great quality of the blade. Recently it is very difficult to obtain such kind of fantastic sword. The blade is mentioned as Saijyo Oowazamono (the top well cut sword ranking.) Bishū Osafune Yasumitsu, like Morimitsu, is said to be one of the two great Bizen swords of the Muromachi period, and is called ``Oei Bizen.'' During the Oei period, there were few famous swordsmiths at that time, but Morimitsu and Yasumitsu boasted superior techniques. It was overwhelming. NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper.
