The La Stanza Dello Scirocco fruit bowl was designed in 2009 by Mario Trimarchi for Alessi. The piece is inspired by the harsh Scirocco winds from Trimarchi’s early life in Sicily, with small, rectangular metal card pieces combined creating this asymmetrical design bowl. The metal cards represent various papers blowing away by the warm scirocco wind. The La Stanza bowl is very good used condition. Some minimal signs of wear like some scruffs underneath. Mario Trimarchi: Mario Trimarchi, born in Sicily, has lived and worked in Milan since 1983. He has been Director of Advanced Design at the Domus Academy and part of the Olivetti Design Studio, where he worked with Michele De Lucchi. In 1999 he founded his own Corporate Identity Care studio, FRAGILE. With FRAGILE he designs systems of identity, coordinated image and visual alphabets through which diverse individualities can be expressed. He has designed many trademarks, most notably for Poste Italiane, the graphics for numerous large exhibitions, communications systems for Italian design companies and, finally, many displays and interiors.
