1957 Château Laroze (1), 1970 Château Les Grandes Murailles (1) & 1975 Château Balestard la Tonnelle - Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé - 5 Botellas (0,75 L)

1957 Château Laroze , Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion About the domain Chateau Laroze is a Saint-Emilion cru produced on 27 hectares. Thanks to the work of Guy Meslin, a brilliant winemaker and a descendant of the family, the wines produced are lush and well-balanced. An excellent wine at affordable prices. About the cuvée A very consistent wine which is refined and balanced, Château Laroze's wine may be drunk when it is still young. In good vintages it is worth keeping for a few years so that it can open up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1970 Château Les Grandes Murailles , Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion About the domain This property has shown tremendous consistency, and produces deep, concentrated wines. About the cuvée Across the two hectares of vines owned by Château Les Grandes Murailles, Merlot, the flagship grape of the region and the Libournais, reigns supreme. It draws its nobility from the clay and limestone soil, which itself rests on a limestone subsoil. The Cuvelier family, who run the château, nurture the grapes with loving care, and harvest them by hand. Manual harvesting ensures that the grapes are rigorously sorted before the vinification process, which is overseen by two top winemakers: Stéphane Derenoncourt and Jean-Claude Berrouet. This process is conducted in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (containers that help preserve the brightness and freshness of the fruit). As for malolactic fermentation, it is initiated in barrels. Once this is complete, the wine is matured in new barrels for 18 to 20 months. These containers impart elegance to the wine, but most importantly, fine tannins and complex notes of sweet spices and precious wood. A limited production of 7,000 bottles is released each year, truly worthy long years of cellaring. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1975 Château Balestard la Tonnelle , Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé About the domain Thanks to a very rich clay-limestone soil, Château Balestard La Tonnelle produces highly structured wines, that are without doubt among the most powerful in the appellation. Very concerned with the wine's quality, the owners employ rigorous vinification methods. They produce a wine with a strong personality which develops a remarkable velvety texture. About the cuvée This wine's character suggests an excellent capacity to improve with age. It also develops a delightful aromatic richness and a very seductive bouquet.
