This Brunello di Montalcino is only produced in particularly good years. It is crafted by the Biondi-Santi estate, one of the pioneers of this great Tuscan appellation.
Known for the excellent cellaring potential of its wine, this domain’s reputation began to take off during the 19th century. The owner at the time, Clemente Santi, saw his Sangiovese grapes – a variety he had studied and worked on for many years – prized during the Paris Exhibition in 1867.
Wonderful balance and structured, with notes of blueberry, blackberry and raspberry, with a note of pepper. Great mouth feel, with a medium finish.
Label is a little damaged.
