The male doll is holding a slender wooden scepter in his right hand, while the female doll gracefully holds a cypress fan. The three court ladies, portrayed with traditional attires, were officials serving the imperial family. The accompanying guards, Zuijin, are depicted as an aged man with a long beard representing the Left Minister, and a younger, striking-faced doll as the Right Minister, symbolizing their roles in guarding the royalty. The five child musicians comprise child musicians traditionally associated with Noh theater performances. The attendants are humorously crafted with the three fundamental human emotions: smiling, crying, and anger, reflecting their origins from the common folk and their duties in the palace, like cleaning and managing royal accessories. Accompanying this set are symbolic cherry blossoms and mandarin orange decorations. Cherry blossoms are known to ward off evil spirits, while the evergreen nature of the mandarin suggests eternity, bringing good fortune. The set is complemented by a pair of screen backdrops and bonbori lamps, enhancing the dolls' majesty by reflecting light and adding depth to the arrangement. Each doll sits on a lacquered base adorned with maki-e peony and arabesque designs. Please note the signs of age, including wear, minor scratches, stains, dirt on the faces, a tear on the backside of the screen, and missing hats on the Zuijin & Shicho figures.
