Ardbeg Spectacular: the first Ardbeg whiskey aged in ex-Porto cask Ardbeg Spectacular is the first Ardbeg ever to be aged in carefully selected ex-Porto casks, which makes it in its own right one of the most eclectic experiments for the distillery, with a great meeting between sweetness and peat. It is then transferred to ex-Bourbon barrels, for further refinement which gives the whiskey great richness and a spectacular touch of colour. This is the annual limited release released on the occasion of Ardbeg Day, which this year will be celebrated on Saturday 1 June 2024 with the Ardbeg Dark Circus: a wonderful show of flavours, but different from the classic circus we know.
