Full Size - Niki Lauda - Ferrari - 1977 helmet
Niki Lauda was an Austrian former Formula One driver and a three-time F 1 World Drivers Champion, winning in 1975, 1977 and 1984. He is considered by some as one of the greatest F 1 drivers of all time.
Lauda was seriously injured in a crash at the 1977 GP at the Nürburgring, during which his Ferrari burst into flames, and he came close to death after inhaling hot toxic fumes and suffering severe burns. However, he survived, and recovered enough to race again just six weeks later at the Italian Grand Prix.
Here we offer a fantastic vintage 1977 Niki Lauda helmet, this is a recreation of the helmet which Niki used when he drove the Iconic Ferrari team. The helmet is based on a original 70's race helmet, everything is still original, such as the visor and the inner liners, it has some minor marks but this adds much to its appeal and character. The inside lining and foam are still in good condition considering its age, it's almost 50 years old and still fully original. This helmet is an original vintage, with a Snell 1970 inside (so it was approved for high speed motor sports such as F1).
Truly a fantastic collector's item for any collection, office, home or man cave!
