You are bidding on a very niche Magnum from Chateau Ferrand Clinet 1982, Pomerol ! Actually, 1982 wasn't a particularly big wine year, with one exception: Bordeaux. Everything was just right here. Nature gave the winegrowers perfect vine material in large quantities. Under the influence of the legendary Professor Peynaud, they not only worked in the vineyard but also in the cellar in a much more responsible and quality-conscious manner. The result was a Bordeaux vintage that was one of the greats of the last century. At the beginning, the quality of the vintage was often overlooked. The wines were lush, fruity, very rich in extracts and had a good tannin structure. I still remember my first time as a wine drinker in the mid-80s, when many so-called experts tried to convince me that 83 was a significantly larger vintage. At the time, the 82s were given little aging potential due to their early availability. It has now become clear what Robert Parker was one of the few who recognized and announced very early on. The 1982s are great wines with considerable aging potential.
