VICTORINOX SWISS MILITARY WATCH - Water Resistant 100 meters (10 ATM) The Victorinox company was founded in 1884 as Messerfabrik Carl Elsener in Ibach. In 1891, he co-founded the Schweizerischer Messerschmiedverband, an association of Swiss master cutlers. Elsener and his peers at the time delivered knives to the Swiss army. Elsener's Schweizer Offiziers und Sportmesser was patented in 1897 and then marketed internationally as the original Swiss army knife. When his mother died in 1909, Elsener named the brand Victoria in her honor. The introduction of the Swiss coat of arms as the company logo dates back to the same year. In 1921, the company changed its trade name to the current Victorinox, a portmanteau of "Victoria" and "Inox", an abbreviation for stainless steel. ​ The watch is fully working and is in an excellent condition.
