This work is a hanging scroll with Zen words 禅語 written on it. The signature is “前大徳 宗興 Zen Daitoku Soko”. The seals are “紫野 大徳 Murasakino Daitoku” and “宗興 Soko”. The author is “Nishigaki Soko 西垣宗興(1908-1985)”. ◯Dokuza Daiyuhou - 独坐大雄峰 /  There is nothing I am more thankful for than the fact that each of us is sitting there alive. ◯Nishigaki Soukou / 1908-1985  Chief priest of Gokurakuji Temple, Mannenzan, Daitokuji School of the Rinzai Sect.  Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1908.  He enters the sub-temple of Daitokuji Temple in Kyoto.  Later became the chief priest of Gokurakuji Temple in Kinosaki, Hyogo Prefecture.  He died in 1985. He passed away at the age of 78. There is a small amount of dirt due to age. This is an antique item. Please understand that it is used and shows some signs of wear. Please check the image.
