Byôbu 屏風 (biombo) - Papel, Seda, Madera - ‘Tesseki Kiyomizu Sanetada’ 徹石清水以忠 - Japón - Periodo Meiji (1868 -1912)
Striking medium-size six-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) covered with a pair of separate hanging scroll paintings 掛け軸 (kakejiku) depicting samurai 侍 (warriors) paired with poems. The one on the right clad in full red armour displaying an impressive dragon maedate. He is using the point of an armour to write something in a tree. He hold a long sword with a furry sheath at his side.
On the left, a crouched figure in a green suit-of-armour. Fully adorned with sword, long bow, and filled quiver. Looking over his shoulder at the side.
Both are dated signed and sealed by the artist.
Stating that the painting and poem are done by the artist ‘Tesseki Kiyomizu Sanetada’ 徹石清水以忠. Both made in Meiji 7, the year of the wood dog 明治七年甲戌, Anno 1874. One in January, and the other Mid-February.
Colour and ink on silk, mounted on paper, protected by a wooden frame.

Total width: 156 cm (2 x 78 cm); Height: 163.3 cm.
It is in a very good condition with some traces of wear conform age, and old restorations. Please have a look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
The room divider is ideal for mounting flat on a wall and presenting as a single work of art.
