2000 Gaja - Barbaresco DOCG - 1 Botella (0,75 L)

Gaja is today a winery that has almost 100 hectares of controlled property vineyards in Piedmont alone. The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 in Barbaresco, in the heart of the Langhe, and has always been recognized as one of the symbolic names in the production of Barbaresco. From the founder Giovanni to Angelo Gaja, this family has always sought quality. Piedmont is one of the most suitable regions for the production of great wines. Here, Nebbiolo often takes on the contours of poetry. Angelo Gaja, in the 1960s, had the merit of renewing traditions. This meant importing new techniques such as reducing production per hectare, greater control of the fermentation temperature, careful use of the barrique, and the use of longer corks. Gaja has thus been able to keep up with the times, without falling into the mistake of fossilizing in the wake of tradition. A success, that of Gaja, built with intelligence and intuition, inherited from the rigor and sacrifices of its predecessors and developed and consolidated in recent decades thanks to the formidable leadership of Angelo. Gaja has built around itself the image of a strong and essential brand, symbol of the greatness of Barbaresco and of a wine that knows how to tell the poetry of its territory in the glass. The wine The blending of the grapes from the 14 vineyards gives rise to a complete and balanced wine, an authentic Barbaresco, particularly fruity, with excellent tannic. Dark garnet red, olfactory impact of rare refinement and complexity with superb definition of fruit and spices. The initial impact is with notes of liquorice and blackberry, then, little by little, here are the small red fruits where the blueberry and then the cherry, the jam stand out, to continue on refined and ethereal floral tones. The taste is frank, with a powerful but gentle structure. The development is excellent, the tannins are important but gentle, almost sweet. A Barbaresco, the Barbaresco! strong and effective as you rarely encounter. Indispensable. Barbaresco di Gaja is a single-varietal Nebbiolo red wine produced in the Barbaresco denomination.
