Artist Profile
Taro Okamoto (1911-1996) gained worldwide acclaim for his dynamic and often monumental artworks exploring the realms of energy, nature, and the universe. His most iconic piece, the "Tower of the Sun," became the symbol of the 1970 Osaka World Exposition. In acknowledgment of his profound impact on the artistic landscape, Okamoto was honored with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Officier) by the French government in 1984.
